| California Men Have Unique Name |
| Sun, Oct. 2 2005 |
| Many choral groups around the United States have a catchy title for their choral group, especially middle/junior and senior high school jazz/show choir ensembles. And the men of the Redwood Community Chorus, located in Mendocino, California must have some Hollywood writers working for them as they have come up with one of the best titles of all. The "Acafellas" are a spinoff group of the community chorus and have enjoyed wonderful success under the capable direction of Joel Rosenthal.
This group has recently added Don Moore's arrangement of HARD TIMES COME AGAIN NO MORE, a Stephen Foster classic, for TTBB voices, a cappella. This is the same arrangement that has been performed from time to time by the world famous men's ensemble group, Chanticleer out of San Francisco. | This E-mail From a Former Student Made My Day! |
| Mon, Mar. 21 2005 |
| "I can honestly say that the memories I have from your music class are some of the most vivid and enjoyable from all of the time that I spent in school. I'm sure that after the thousands of students you have taught over the years, you don't remember me, but I sure remember you. Everything from Bingo the Wonderdog & Helga the maid, to you telling us that Pete Seeger was going to visit the class (although he never did). I also remember the day you told me you would give me all of the money that was in your wallet at the time if I could tell you the names of the Righteous Brothers...I didn't know it then, but I sure remember it now. The concerts you did for cancer research were outstanding...and by far ahead of their time in concept. You should feel good about all of the work you did with those. I had the privilege to work on the stage crew one year, and listening to the tape at the party in Dan Kastner's basement after the show still seems like yesterday...even though at has been almost 25 years. I remember from class that you had a racing background, but until recently I had no idea of your current involvement. I also have a love for racing, and would very much enjoy seeing one of your cars run some evening. I don't want to take up too much of your time as I am sure that you always have a full slate of things to do, but I did want to let you know that I really feel fortunate to have had a teacher like you."

| Kastner Shown The Door On APPRENTICE |
| Fri, Feb. 4 2005 |
From the pen of Donald Moore. Nothing is forever and Danny Kastner found that out on NBCs THE APPRENTICE. The February 3rd edition had Kastner volunteering to be project manager for a promotional campaign featuring a Nestle coffee product. Things got ugly once again with team members expressing their frustration at Dannys inability to make quick decisions which lead to the ultimate defeat of their group. And when push came to shove, Kastner got the dreaded message from Donald Trump.. "Youre Fired." Kastner did get the last word in, though... in song, as we were treated to his musical talents with an impromptu ballad in a New York City cab as the show came to an end. So long Danny and good luck to you.... It was fun watching while it lasted!! |

| Don Moore Solves Dilemma in Kansas |
| Fri, Jan. 28 2005 |
From the pen of Donald Moore. When I was a teacher, it was easy to find out information that I needed about something that was puzzling me... Id just ask my students and I would get the answer instantly! Well.... today I got an e-mail from Centralia, Kansas. It seems that the high school students in that city have been working on one of my arrangements called OH MARY DONT YOU WEEP (SATB voices, a cappella, Warner Brothers, out-of print) and their folders and music disappeared... Poof... Just like that! With a contest deadline coming soon, their director was in a tizzy about what to do about this dilemma. So Julie Gleason, the expert high school music teacher at Centralia, Kansas High School, got a bright idea... Ill go to Don Moores web site!!!!! Once logged in, she e-mailed me asking if I happened to have a copy or two of this out-of-print piece. Yes.. I do!!! Off I went to the basement and found a few complimentary editions and sent them in the mail today. Don Moore to the rescue, folks!!!! So to the students at Centralia.. Good luck singing a cappella in that contest and enjoy the music!!!!! |

| Former Student Dan Kastner Escapes Being Fired on TV Show |
| Mon, Jan. 24 2005 |
| The first edition of THE APPRENTICE on NBC television has been completed and former Don Moore prot訩 Dan Kastner narrowly escaped being fired. It was my initial visit to this popular show and it was an impressive production with plenty of drama and flash. Dan was part of the "Magna" team, a group of nine college graduates who were pitted against nine high school educated hopefuls in a contest to see who could sell the most specialty burgers at two New York franchised Burger Kings. It played well to the audience and Dan Kastner certainly caught the eye of the viewer with his red suit and eclectic personality. We were also entertained by his guitar playing and singing and a little piece of his compositional skills at writing songs off the cuff. But when push came to shove, Danny became the object of the final board room discussion with Mr. Trump. One by one, his fellow teammates would single him out as the reason for his teams failure. But in the end Dannys neck would be saved as Donald Trump fired the team manager, even though he labeled Dan as a complete disaster! Congratulations on your escape, Dan!! Ill be watching next week to see if you survive!!!!! |

| Don Moore Racing Enterprises... A Family Tradition Continues |
| Wed, Jan. 12 2005 |
Don Moore is well known throughout the world for his contributions to choral music. But his other love has always been auto racing. And racing has been a way of life amongst the Moore family. His uncle, Bob Moore (Sr.) was a veteran driver and owner on the MARC new car circuit during the 1950s and was a regular at Sportsmans Park, Northfield, Ohio. Another uncle, Ernie Moore, also tried his hand at stock car racing for a short time. Cousins Ernie and Jeff Moore were championship go kart racers in Florida during the 1960s. And another notable link in the family is his cousin, NASCAR public relations veteran Bob Moore, a well known author in his own right having penned three outstanding books: (1) NASCAR 50 Greatest Drivers, (2) Dale Earnhart: A Legend For The Ages, and (3) Dale Earnhart Sr.
Don Moore first became interested in auto racing when he would attend weekly events with his family at the Akron Rubber Bowl and Sportsmans Park. It wasnt unusual to find Don, his older brother Bud and his cousins involved in summertime bicycle and wagon races on a homemade dirt track behind the Moore house in Kent, Ohio. Later, he would buy a Wahlburg dirt quarter midget with paper route profits and race weekly at the Tallmadge, Ohio Drive-in Theater. That led to a second place finish in 1958 for the Ohio State Quarter Midget Championship at Columbus, Ohio and first place for the same title in 1959. Shortly thereafter, Moore quickly outgrew the quarter midget and "ole number ten" was sold to another up and coming racer. He then turned his attention to his other love, music, and became a teenage attraction playing keyboards each weekend at the Reserve Inn in Hudson, Ohio, owned by auto racing enthusiast, Leo Wagner.
In the years that followed, Moore became a middle school music teacher but still kept in touch with racing through the National Speed Sport News. And he became a regular traveler to Indianapolis, Springfield and DuQuoin, Ilinois, New Bremen, Ohio and the Ohio State Fairgrounds to watch the midgets, sprints and championship dirt cars. Many years later, with a teaching career in its final stages and a very successful music publishing business that still continues today, it was time to turn to a lifetime dream of owning a race car team. That dream was helped along in year 2000 when he had a chance meeting with midget driver Chris "Critter" Malone in Malones frontyard in Speedway, Indiana. Moore, who was in Indianapolis for the Brickyard 400, happened to see a tail tank of Malones famous midget number seven in front of Critters house which led to a conversation between the two. Several months later, Moore would become a sponsor of the Malone midget, culminating with a very successful top five finish in the 2002 Chili Bowl Midget Nationals in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
But it was time to put both feet in the fire and become a car owner and that happened in April, 2002 with the purchase of a Stealth/Gaerte Chevy dirt midget. It was time to put "ole number ten" back on the track and that he did. But this time, Moore would step aside from the driving chores and would team with some of the best midget drivers in the country. The likes of Indianapolis 500 veteran Donnie Beechler, midget hall of famer Kevin Olson, East Coast sensation Steve Buckwalter, Ryan Scott, son of racing legend Hank Scott, Oklahomas Andy Pierce and Greg Lueckert of Kansas City have all been a part of the team. Yes, a family racing tradition continues on the dirt tracks of the midwest. And like the song says "Let the good times roll"... And keep rolling!!!

| Former Don Moore Student Doug Beck Hits The Big Time! |
| Mon, Dec. 27 2004 |
Much of Donald Moore's career has been devoted to teaching, including middle/high school music, private piano instruction and producing and directing over 30 rock and pop productions. And many of his students have gone on to very successful and illustrious careers in the music business. One of those students is Doug Beck, a very important and influential producer in the recording industry. Moore recently received an e-mail from Doug and here is what he had to say about the music training, preparation and guidance when he was a student of his:
"Many times when I've been in situations that seemed totally
unreal to me (like sitting on a couch between Daryl Hall and John Oats during the Do It For Love sessions and them asking me what I thought
they should do with the track) I'd think to myself, would Don Moore believe this. He started all of this! Without him there would be no this!!! I'm so grateful to have had a teacher and role model like you. I don't think you even realize the impact you've had on me. Thank you."
Doug is currently busy working on music for several TV shows in LA including: The Missy Elliot Show (airs in Jan 05), Queer Eye For The Straight Girl (Airs Jan 05), Monster Garage and others. Other tracks have been used on Access Hollywood and The Miss America Pageant.
After 12 years in New york City Doug Beck has moved his production company to sunny Los Angeles.
Doug Beck and DJ Boris have been nominated for a Billboard music award for best Latin Dance record for their remix of Thalia's "I'm in Love".
Boris and Beck have completed production on remixes for Janet Jackson and Anastasia. Congratulations to Doug Beck on such a successful career! |

He appeared in several of the Cancer Research Benefit Shows that I produced in the Cleveland, Ohio area. He's a real character and should be very entertaining on TV!" |
